About us

Each year, over 400,000 people in the U.S. undergo total joint replacement surgery. Primary candidates are individuals with chronic joint pain from arthritis that interferes with daily activities, walking, exercise, leisure, recreation and work. The surgery aims to relieve pain, restore your independence and return you to work and other daily activities.

The physicians, nurses and therapists at CAMC have developed a comprehensive planned course of treatment. We believe that you play a key role in ensuring a successful recovery. Our goal is to involve you in your treatment through each step of the program. This guide will give you the necessary information needed for a safe and successful surgical outcome.

Your team includes physicians, nurses, orthopedic technicians, and physical and occupational therapists specializing in total joint care. Every detail, from pre-operative teaching to post-operative exercising, is considered and reviewed with you. The Joint Program coordinator will guide you through the program.
